Dumfries and Galloway south

There were a few places we wanted to visit on the south coast before we headed for home, here are some photos.

Some fun at Kirckudbright

Kirkcudbright Harbour

An old Fordson at New Abbey

A hike up to the top of Criffel, only 570 m high, but because of its isolation and approached from just above sea level it seemed a lot higher. From the summit there are commanding views in all directions - on a clear day.

Caerlaverock Castle - being near the border,
it has had a turbulent history

Purdy loved charging around the grounds

This is the site of the original castle
 - abandoned due to being too wet

Brough Castle
