A short hop to Arran

After a beautiful wild camp on the eastern shore of the Kintyre Peninsular overlooking the Isle of Arran we took the short ferry from Claonaig to Lochranza.

Some really clever art work on the walls of a cafe in Kildonan and a dinosaur footprint in the rocks at low tide.

The weather had turned for the worst with a lot of rain and very high southerly winds forecast we took the opportunity to visit Brodick Castle on what was supposed to be a good day.

Must be Halloween soon !!

Before we left for the mainland we decided to head to the north of the island and Lochranza, where we had camped on our wedding night, but the strong southerly gusting wind were channelled through the valley and rocked Muy from the early hours - so not much sleep. The next morning we took a risk to dash over the pass back to Brodick and Lamlash in the South before booking an earlier ferry off the island - in the rough seas - before the ferries were cancelled for Storm Ashley.

We stopped over the pass for a walk as the sun was coming up - beautiful!
